TWO WOMEN

Women are the symbol of life and are the creators of unconditional love. They are fragile and strong at the same time. Two women symbolize feminine unity, the history of beauty, alchemy and witchcraft. This symbol has a deep meaning in Bohemian architecture, where statues of two women adorn many historic buildings. They are the patrons of Apoteka.

HEADSCARVES

Women wear headscarves that our great-great-grandmothers wore for centuries in the Czech mountains and valleys. Even our beauty consultants wore scarves. Scarves are a cultural symbol of Bohemia.

SHEAF OF WHEAT

Women hold significant objects in their hands. The woman on the right is holding a golden ear. The golden ear is a symbol of abundance, fertility and a healthy harvest from which we bake bread to share with our neighbours. For Organická Apoteka, it is a healthy harvest from which we make cosmetics to share with the world. It is often found on buildings in Prague, where it symbolizes spiritual and material abundance.

BUNDLE OF SAGE

The woman on the left is holding a sage in her hand. It symbolises protection from evil spirits and is still a symbol of alchemy, wisdom and immortality. Women were forbidden to burn sage by the Catholic Church in the 16th century because the act was still associated with witchcraft. Women herbalists were formerly considered witches and men were considered respectable alchemists.

THE BEE

A key symbol of nature and Apoteka. Symbolic meaning is the essence of life and nature. A symbol we have revered for centuries. Throughout the modern and ancient world, the bee is a symbol of wisdom, of birth and rebirth, of industry and industriousness. Bees are the guardians of nature.

DOVE WITH LINDEN LEAVES

The dove represents unity with the earth and, of course, peace. It represents the purity of the past. The linden tree is the symbol and national tree of the Slavs and love. It was planted at village wells, in this case it was a tree protecting the water. For the youth, the linden was a symbol of love. Brides still use linden as a scent for their weddings.

MORTAR AND PESTLE

It has been a traditional symbol of alchemy, medicine and witchcraft for thousands of years. They are usually associated with apothecary because of their historical role in the preparation of medicines from herbs. In Eastern Europe, the symbol was associated with magic and witchcraft.
